With over 40 years of successful leadership experience, Eric launched his executive coaching firm, the Stone Williams Group, in 2010 to help others become more effective leaders. He works with companies to help grow the business and strengthen skills of leaders by assessing the environment, gathering pertinent facts and providing implementable solutions for clients to drive results. With experience in Leadership Development, Crisis Management and Development of Strategic Framework, Eric provides a wealth of knowledge and expertise that has helped many executives throughout the world to improve their overall effectiveness.
Eric previously worked as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of a boutique public relations firm in Washington, DC. His responsibilities included the effective and efficient management of the strategic planning process, leadership development, human resources, facilities management, information technology, budget and finance.
Prior to that, Eric spent 25 years with American Express Financial Advisors (AEFA), presently known as Ameriprise Financial. Rising through the organization, Eric finished his career with AEFA as a Group Vice President. Eric was responsible for more than 200 Financial Advisors, 33,000 clients and $14 billion in client assets under management, throughout parts of VA and WV. He was consistently recognized as a corporate leader in both client and employee satisfaction, while annually meeting his growth objectives.
Committed to the community where he resides, Eric has volunteered for many organizations throughout his career including the NJ Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Commission (appointed by the Governor); Trustee at Union Chapel Church in MA; member of the Board of Trustees at Newark Academy in NJ; Habitat for Humanity in MA; Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Leaguers (a community based organization in NJ) and Commissioner of the Chamberlayne Youth Basketball League in VA. For over a decade, Eric helped at the "Howard University School of Business” in Washington, DC.
Eric holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and completed the curriculum for Certification in Financial Planning (CFP) from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, CO. He is a certified executive coach completing the curriculum through Sherpa Coaching and Howard University. Originally from South Orange, NJ, he resides in Massachusetts and is happily married and has two grown children.
